a sense of place and belonging
Hailing from Perth, Western Australia, I have lived and worked in Boulder County since 1999. I am in awe of Colorado’s natural beauty, sparse elegance and increasingly aware that we are living in critical times. These times call for radically different approaches to living and landscaping.
The landscaping industry, while historically steeped in extractive and polluting methodologies, is poised for doing its part in myriad ways. I feel honored to have the opportunity with my work to bring about healing and education. It is my understanding that when we work to heal our land, we begin also to heal ourselves.
In keeping with the Aboriginal sense of “country”, I also understand that we can only truly “belong” when we acknowledge, respect and reciprocate with the land and community we call home. As such, I acknowledge the Cheyenne, Ute and Arapaho Nations and their ancestral territory upon which we now enjoy this abundant lifestyle.
bio
I am a Landscape Architect and a ‘global citizen’ who leans heavily on the principles of Deep Ecology.
Beyond my degree and licensure in Landscape Architecture, my studies include Arid-land Horticulture, Permaculture and Fine Arts. I have completed the Colorado Master Gardener certification and am a member of Plant Select.
My experience as a Landscape Architect includes Conservation and Interpretive work, Visual Resource Management, Whole Farm Planning, Residential Design and Project Management.

There is interconnectedness and validity of all life forms regardless of their “usefulness” to humans. ALL LIFE IS CONNECTED.
ethos + practices
I find joy in designing unique, natural landscapes born out of the connection between people and place. Every client, home, land and vision is unique.
My work is custom, but every project I do is informed by the basic principles of:
DEEP ECOLOGY, LESS BUT BETTER, RECIPROCITY AND BEAUTY

“Couldn’t be happier. Lisa just “got it”—and her guidance for our side yard project gives us everything we want. We have a lovely place to sit, grow food, rest in the shade … and peace of mind knowing we are helping heal our planet in one small but significant way. Thanks for steering us to better thinking, Lisa.”
